LMU recognizes the importance of funding any study abroad experience and seeks to make available all resources that would be eligible to participating students in the Casa de la Mateada program.
Casa de la Mateada is a featured LMU program and therefore LMU students are eligible to access their Institutional, Federal & State aid on this program. Refer to the LMU Financial Aid page to review the financial aid available for study abroad. Students should also review the funding your semester abroad page.
LMU students who have financial need are eligible to receive the Study Abroad Financial Assistance Grant. The Study Abroad Office works with the LMU Financial Aid Office to determine eligibility and award grants.
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide. The scholarship aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by supporting undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints.
The CASA 'Vamos Grant' is a grant available to admitted Casa de la Mateada students. While we cannot guarantee the amount or availability of these funds from semester to semester, the LMU Study Abroad office works with admitted students on the application materials for this grant based on need and availability. To date, these grants have been available to both LMU students and non-LMU students participating in the Casa de la Mateada program. Participating students will be contacted regarding application materials for the grant after admission to the Casa program.
For additional resources regarding funding and LMU study abroad, please visit the LMU Study Abroad funding page and Scholarships & Grants page.
Note: Non-LMU students participating in the Casa de la Mateada program should work very closely with their respective university's study abroad and financial aid office.
