"Subversive Habits: The Untold Story of Black Catholic Sisters in the United States" An African American Ministry Forum with Dr. Shannen Dee Williams

Saturday, February 13, 2016; 12:30-2:30 p.m.
University Hall 1866
1 LMU Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90045

Dr. Williams will chart the epic journey of the Church's most hidden members and illustrate how they fought to make the universal Church truly catholic. Their stories remind us of the power that faith has to do both justice and mercy, even in the face of prejudice. In this time when two African American religious women are being considered for beatification and canonization, Loyola Marymount University welcomes this exploration of the contributions African American Sisters have made to the Church in the United States. Click here for more information.
