About the Program

"LMU has a particularly strong reputation of theological education for ministry; our Diocese has been fortunate to have students in the graduate and continuing education programs of the University...by putting the completion of a college degree within reach for pastoral ministers, LMU will assist us to enhance the quality of pastoral ministry made available to God’s people in this Diocese."

—The Most Rev. Gerald R. Barnes, Bishop of San Bernardino

Beginning January 2018, LMU Extension at Loyola Marymount University will launch a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree Completion Program in San Bernardino. Degree Completion means that the program is open to those who have completed the Associate of Arts degree (A.A.) or its equivalent, but have never completed a B.A. degree. Students that successfully finish the program will receive the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies from Loyola Marymount University.

Designed for individuals working in the Church or aspiring to such work, the program has an emphasis on pastoral ministry.  As students take varied courses such as Biblical theology, history of theology and others, a simultaneous focus will be maintained on the way the study of theology informs pastoral ministry.

Why LMU?
