Clinical Yoga Therapy Rx

 

‌A continuation of the level 1 and 2 studies, the clinical program is a supervised practicum. The program offers an immersive clinical experience, taught seminar style with live and standardized patients, and complete interaction with all program participants.

Students who successfully complete this program will be better equipped to work with various medical specialists, chiropractors, osteopaths and physical therapists in clinical settings to help treat common ailments and conditions.

  • Registration + Fees

    Begins: October 21, 2017

    Tuition: $3,415 (2016-2017); partial scholarship available.

    Prerequisite: This program is open to those who have completed one of the 3 prerequisites options: 

    1. Certificate of completion of or currently enrolled (and in good academic standing) in level 2 (YRTX 821), or certificate of completion of level 1 (YRTX 811) with RYT-500 or ERYT-500 credential.
    2. Current practicing yoga teacher with RTY-500 or ERTY-500 credential. Applicant must submit a level 1 application, and have completed (a) more than one year training with Desikachar-inspired school such as Viniyoga or KHYF, or (b) completed Prime of Life Yoga certificate program, or (c) completed proper anatomy course work (as determined by program instructor).
    3. Is a licensed physician or physical therapist (MD, PT, OT, DC, DO, DDS) with RYT-200 credential.

    With the instructor's permission, students may enroll in level 2 (YRTX 821) and level 3 (YRTX 830) concurrently.  

  • Schedule

    Classes meet once a month on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.

    Yoga Therapy Rx III Clinic
    13.0 Semester Hours

    Yoga Therapy is a synthesis of the ageless wisdom from the East with the most recent knowledge in complementary health from the West, and is a means to manage illness or facilitate healing. This course is a supervised practicum in clinical Yoga Therapy. Students will experience the clinical setting with live and standardized patients, and complete interaction with all program participants. Prerequisite: Yoga Therapy Rx II or concurrent enrollment, or other instruction.
