Transcripts

An official transcript is a printed report of a student’s in-progress and completed course academic record at LMU. The official transcript will bear the seal of the university and the signature of the Registrar of the University. LMU does not offer partial or unofficial transcripts. LMU does not currently issue electronic transcripts.

The following distinctions are necessary to request the exact transcript you wish.

Choose: Transcript Type (LMU or LLS)

  • If you have taken courses at Loyola Marymount University and want to request a transcript that reflects that work, select Loyola Marymount University.
  • If you have taken courses at Loyola Law School and want to request a transcript that reflects that work, select Loyola Law School.
  • If you have enrollments at each of the two, the two must be requested separately.

Choose: Course Levels (UG, FR, Extension)

  • If you have more than one course level, aka career, (undergraduate, graduate, extension) at LMU or LLS, you will need to choose one course level type. You may order only one level per request.

Ordering

  • PROWL tab: Students with enrollments in or after Fall 1988
  • PRE-PROWL tab: Students with enrollments prior to Fall 1988
  • You may request an In-Person pick up at the Office of the Registrar; you must bring a valid picture ID at the time of pick up. If a student is unable to pick up the transcript, a signed note including the name of the person who will pick up the transcript must be addressed to the Office of the Registrar, and faxed or emailed. This note MUST have the requestor's signature and date and must be sent directly to the Office of the Registrar. The third party must bring a valid picture ID at the time of pick up.
  • An in-person, same-day "rush" transcript service is available at the Office of the Registrar for $10 per transcript issued. A picture ID is required for the request. Usually the transcript will be ready in under 30 minutes, but may take longer depending upon circumstances.

    • Access PROWL with your 9-digit University Identification Number (or SSN) and your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Reset your account if needed.
      • Select Student Services > Student Records > Request Official Transcript
      • Select "One of Your Addresses" - if you have one or more address types already in Banner; otherwise, you may also ignore this field by leaving it at None.
      • Sending to a 3rd party? Type name of organization or individual in the "Issue to" frame - 30 characters maximum (accommodate the rest of the address on next screen)
    • Select "Continue"
      • Type specific address information in the appropriate address line, if necessary
      • Line 1 = attention to (30 character limit)
      • Line 2 = street number and name
      • Line 3 = suite, building, or room number
      • Type city, state, and zip code in areas designated
    • Select "Continue"
      • Request number of transcripts needed for this address - no more than 5 transcripts may be printed in a single request. If more than 5 are needed, please submit a second request.
      • Select delivery method (Standard Mail or Student pick-up)
      • Select "Continue"
      • Review Transcript Request Confirmation page and "Submit Request"
    • Transcripts are printed normally the next business day and sent to the USPS. Once there, LMU has no knowledge of the delivery process or arrival time. Remember that if sending to another university, there will be extra time needed for it to route the transcript to the correct office on their campus. If a transcript is undeliverable to the address you entered, it will be returned to LMU and our office will contact you. If the transcript has not reached the recipient in less than a two-week time frame, please request another transcript through PROWL, ensuring that the address is correct. The bottom line: since the transcript will have been sent from our office, the "why" it has not been received is less important than ensuring a second is already on the way.

    If an additional form (LSDAS, AMCAS, etc.) must be sent with your transcript request:

    • Ensure that the form has your pre-printed information on it and sign if necessary
    • Scan the form to transcript@lmu.edu stating that the form must be matched with your transcript request (or fax 310.338.4466)
    • To guarantee the matching of the form with your transcript, you must do both on the same day.
  • If you attended one of the following institutions prior to Fall Semester 1988, you place your order through the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC).

    • Loyola Marymount University (including LMU Extension and Continuing Education)
    • Loyola University of Los Angeles
    • Marymount College
    • St. Vincent's College

    Transcripts ordered through the NSC cost $2.25 per request regardless of the number of transcripts ordered. Your credit card will be charged after your order has been completed.

    • Access the National Student Clearinghouse
      • Select the "Order-Track-Verify" tab
      • Select Loyola Marymount University from the scrolling list of participating schools, and then Submit
      • Follow the prompts to place your order
      • Sign and return the consent form to the NSC
    • Allow 5 business days for processing

    The NSC will send you e-mail confirmations of receipt, processing, and mailing for each transcript request. You may also track the status of your transcript order and order history through their transcript request services.
