Step 1: Submit the AFROTC interest form

Step 2: Register for New Student Orientation (NSO)

Step 3: Create a WINGS Profile

If you already have a WINGS account (HSSP applicants, prior applicants, etc.), please use your existing login to apply. Otherwise:

  1. Visit WINGS and select "Apply for AFROTC", then follow this guide to set up your account.
  2. During the application you will need to report any past offenses, violations of law or ordinance, or any other adverse involvements with civil, military, or school authorities. This includes parking and speeding tickets, even if they were dismissed and were not officially reported on your record.
  3. Once your WINGS profile is created, add your beneficiary information into your account.
  4. Safely store your WINGS login credentials. You will need it throughout your AFROTC career.

Step 4: Register for Required Class(es)

(Non-LMU students will need to create an account to start a new application.)

  1. Visit the LMU AFROTC Course Catalog to see what courses are available.
  2. Register for Aerospace Studies.
  3. After registering, LMU will need to process the request. Processing times can vary, so contact us if you would like a status update.

Step 5: In-Person Appointment with Cadre

Schedule an appointment to complete in-processing. Please note that although the appointment scheduler creates a Zoom link, this appointment must be held in person for certain documents to be signed.

Bring all the following required documents to the appointment:

  • Birth Certificate (original, not a copy)
  • Social Security Number Card (original, not a copy)​
  • Vaccination Records (contact your healthcare provider)

Maps for the LMU Westchester Campus are available on our Campus Maps page. After entering campus from Lincoln Blvd, to your immediate right will be University Hall. If you're driving, follow signs to park in level P2 or P3 under University Hall, then take the elevator or stairs up from the parking lot. Detachment 040 is located on the 3rd floor near the escalators.

If driving, there is a visitor parking fee which can be paid via kiosk in the University Hall P2 or P3 parking lots nearest the elevators. Alternatively, there is free street parking off campus.

Step 6: Attend New Student Orientation (NSO)

New Student Orientation (NSO) is your opportunity to learn and ask questions about AFROTC. It is also where you start your journey, should you choose to pursue a commission in the U.S. Air Force or Space Force!

Bring the following documents to NSO:

  • Birth Certificate (original, not a copy)
  • Social Security Number Card (original, not a copy)​
  • Proof of naturalization
    • Birth Certificate
    • Passport
    • Naturalization Certificate
