eFaculty Certification

Starting Fall 2018, the Center for Teaching Excellence has launched the university-wide eFaculty Certification program.

This faculty development program is open to all part-time and full-time faculty who are interested in designing and teaching an online or hybrid course. We offer a two-part eFaculty Certification program for faculty that includes:

  • Part 1: Quality Matters Applying the Rubric (APPQMR) Training
    • Identify elements of the Quality Matters quality assurance program including the Quality Matters Rubric, materials and processes for designing an online course using QM standards.
    • Apply the concept of alignment to Quality Matters standards.

  • Part 2: eDesign for Online & Hybrid Teaching and Learning
    • Identify and apply the instructional design principles grounded in online pedagogy and the Backwards Design framework.
    • Design a module and engaging activities in Brightspace aligned to QM standards and best practice design principles.
