These guidelines regard disruptive student behavior in an academic setting. They build on the LMU Community Standards and are intended to help faculty deal with student behavior that interferes with the learning environment but may not rise to the level that would warrant Judicial Affairs involvement.
The development of this document was initiated by a group of faculty, and their work was taken up by the Associate Deans Council. The document has been reviewed by the Faculty Senate, the Deans Council, University Counsel, leadership in Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, and by the Associate Deans Council on multiple occasions. It was accepted by the Provost in fall 2013.
