The advanced course will address the origin and treatment of the internal systems of the body, focusing on the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, nervous, reproductive and endocrine systems. Classes will address principles of practice, anatomy for yoga teachers, the origin and treatment of internal problems. Classes will also cover communication tools for working with doctors including reading reports and understanding medical terminology and clinical notes such as S.O.A.P. notes.

Program Benefits

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Use Yoga therapy to understand and address the origin and treatment of the remaining systems of the body including the on the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, nervous, reproductive and endocrine systems
  • Understand the relationship between Yoga therapy and Ayurveda, the ancient Indian holistic approach to life and healing
  • Work with various medical specialists and learn additional and more advanced medical terminology

  • Registration + Fees

    Begins: October 13, 2018 | REGISTER

    • Early Registration Discount. Register with full-tuition payment by September 14 to receive $150 off tuition.
    • Concurrent Enrollment Discount. Register in both YRTX 811 and YRTX 821 concurrently to receive $150 off tuition.

    Prerequisite: Successful completion of Yoga Therapy Rx I (YRTX 811). Students may enroll in YRTX 811 and YRTX 821 concurrently.

    Tuition: $3,485 | A minimum payment of $750 is required to register. Limited financial support is available with the Payne-Chapple Scholarship. Tuition payment plans are also available; please contact Academic Services in LMU Extension at 310.338.1971 to make arrangements.

    Yoga Therapy Rx II
    13.0 Semester Hours

    Yoga Therapy is a synthesis of the ageless wisdom from the East with the most recent knowledge in complementary health from the West, and is a means to manage illness or facilitate healing. This advanced course will focus in the same manner on other systems of the body as outlined in Yoga Rx by Larry Payne and Richard Usatine. These systems will include the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, nervous, reproductive and endocrine systems. Classes will address principles of practice, anatomy for yoga teachers, the origin and treatment of internal problems. Prerequisite: Yoga Therapy Rx I or concurrent enrollment.
