President

Catherine Ibarra Channell ('24)

Cat is a junior Biology major with a biochem minor whose family has moved to Camarillo, CA in the past year. On campus she is involved in LMU’s Gryphon Circle service org., the Tri-Beta Biology Honors society, and undergraduate research in Dr. Dahlquist’s lab. You can also find her TAing in the Bio. Dept. for genetics or gen. bio! Her interests include in classic mustangs, puzzles, and philodendron micans :)  

 

VP

Giana Hubbard ('23)

Giana is a senior Economics major and pre-medicine student from Los Angeles, CA. Currently, she is the Secretary of LMU’s chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu, an honor society for Jesuit colleges and universities. She is also a member of the Academic Community of Excellence (ACE) and last year was inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon, an economics honor society. Another activity that she is quite active in is the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS), where she serves as the Membership Chair. Among other things, for the past two summers she has been involved in several breast cancer research projects through Charles R. Drew University and UCLA, where she will return after graduation to continue this same research. She will also be applying to medical schools this summer. Giana is also a big Los Angeles Lakers and NBA basketball fan, loves everything Star Wars and Marvel, Disneyland trips, playing tennis, shopping, exercising, and traveling.  

 

Secretary

Piper Jones ('25)

Piper is a sophomore Film, Television, and Media Studies and Business Administration, Management and Leadership double major originally from Seattle, Washington. This is Piper's second year on SHAC as she served as last years Freshman Representative. On campus she also is the Treasurer of Delta Kappa Alpha pre-professional cinematic arts fraternity, Co-Founder and Co-President of the Folklore Fellowship, a member of Sursum Corda service organization, and a prolific producer of undergraduate films. Her interests include hiking, video games, music (playing and listening), and female led movies.

 

Social Events Chair

Jack McDermott ('25)

Jack is a second-year Film & Television Production and Screenwriting double major with a minor in Business Administration, from Berkeley, California. In addition to SHAC, he works as a research assistant and runs Screenager Productions, a film production & distribution company.  There, he wrote and co-directed the feature films Satan's Servant (streaming on Amazon) and Welcome Week (coming soon) along with dozens of short films. He has been interviewed by Fangoria, Mostly Horror Movie Night, and Gory Cory.  His interests include watching horror films, playing basketball, and reading.

Rachel Dennin ('25)

Rachel is a sophomore Animation major with a double minor in Women’s and Gender Studies and Film, TV, Media Studies. Alongside serving as SHAC Academic Events Chair, she is a member of Delta Kappa Alpha Cinematic Arts Fraternity, a member of Creare Service Organization, a Campus Tour Guide, Animation Club Communications Chair, Animation Office Assistant, and CLC Spirituality Co-Chair. Originally from Irvine California, her interests include visual development, reading, dancing, and everything disney!

Josephine Spanier ('25)

Josephine is a sophomore Film & Television Production major with a minor in Classics and Archaeology, originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Alongside serving as SHAC Communications Chair, she is a member of Delta Kappa Alpha Cinematic Arts Fraternity, co-president of LMU’s Taylor Swift Club, and a student manager at Hannon Library. Her interests include production design, Greek mythology, LEGOs, and skiing. 

Sophomore Representative

Nicole Dwyer ('25)

Nicole is a sophomore Film & Television Production major with a minor in Business Administration. She is a member of Delta Kappa Alpha Cinematic Arts Fraternity and the Black Filmmakers Rebellion. She works at SFTV's Post Production Office. In the future, she plans to pursue a career in Video Editing. Originally from Long Island, New York, Nicole loves the beach, watching romantic comedies and teen drama shows, listening to pop music, and playing basketball and volleyball! 

 

First-Year Representative

Nathan Kuczmarski (’26) 

Nathan is a first year Film and Television Production major with a minor in Philosophy. Despite sprouting in chilly Cleveland, Ohio he still freezes in LA’s 50° winter weather leading him to frequently don his custom-made “Elemue” sweatshirt. He’s a member of LMU’s Ultimate Frisbee team and is a Video Intern for the Los Angeles Loyolan. You’ll usually find him questioning things or editing Funkytown. 

 

First-Year Representative

Jake Walter (’26)

Jake is a first-year Undeclared Liberal Arts major from Los Angeles. He works on campus in the Facilities Management Office and off campus as a high school distance track coach. In his free time, you can find Jake playing ultimate frisbee, running, helping his friends with film projects, editing Attic Salt, or encouraging Nathan to actually finish editing ‘Funkytown.’
