We welcome you to join our project in any of the following ways:

1. Faculty Learning Community: If you’d like to participate in a reading group on intellectual virtues and education that meets approximately every other week over the course of a semester, consider joining one of our Faculty Learning Communities, which aren’t exclusively for faculty. Staff members and administrators are welcome to participate as well.
   
   
2. Course revision and development grants: We’re offering small summer grants ($4k-$6k) for faculty interested in revising an existing course to incorporate a significant emphasis on intellectual character development or to develop a new course centered primarily on this topic. Grant recipients will be required to attend a three-day summer workshop on intellectual virtues and education (see below). We will also consider proposals (e.g. from staff or administrators) for other projects aimed at shaping the intellectual character of LMU students. An RFP for these grants will be posted here soon.
   
   
3. Summer Workshops: During the summers of 2026, 2027, and 2026, we will be running three-day workshops for faculty, staff, and others interested in exploring the “what, why, and how” of educating for intellectual virtues. Most participants will receive $3k for participation (stipends for grant recipients are included in the grant awards). A workshop application will be posted here soon.
