Search Funding Opportunities

Support for research and other projects may be found in a variety of search engines. The most important factor in the selection of appropriate funders is how well your project matches the agency’s funding goals. A project may potentially have several avenues worth pursuing.

Grant Forward lists more than 14,000 federal, state and private foundation funding opportunities. It allows users to build a profile, to save searches, and to receive scheduled alerts.

LMU has a limited number of licenses to access the Foundation Directory Online. The free search available via this link will provide partial information. Faculty members who would like to run a complete foundation search should contact a member of the ORSP staff. The Foundation Center also offers a free e-newsletter. Logo

The federal government provides funding support for research and programs in the sciences, humanities and education, and the site is a clearinghouse of federal opportunities. Searches can be narrowed by identifying the specific federal agency or topic.

The Open Education Database has collected a list of "100+ Places to Find Funding For Your Research" organized by subject area. It combines search engines, private funders, government sites and other sites.
