Dr. Massa has experience as both a researcher and Assistant Professor in Cognitive Psychology, specializing in assessment and improving student learning outcomes.  She completed her undergraduate studies at the Dominican College of San Rafael before pursuing a Master of Arts at California State University, Sacramento, and finally her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology with an interdisciplinary emphasis in quantitative methods in the social sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara. 

As Director of Assessment at Loyola Marymount University, Dr. Massa has guided the development and implementation of a University assessment plan, conducts educational workshops on assessment topics, and provides advice and support to academic departments in the development and maintenance of effective assessment activities.

Chris Schmader, Ph.D.

Chris Schmader completed his undergraduate degree in English at Davidson College and holds a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from Northwestern University, where he studied how social context affects the negotiation of meaning in conversation. He has since worked as an assessment researcher, collaborating with university faculty and staff to develop meaningful learning assessments driven by student and faculty needs. 

As a Research Associate in the Office of Assessment at Loyola Marymount University, Chris will support the assessment work of the faculty, staff, and the University.

Belinda has been with LMU since 2001, working as an administrator in a multiplicity of faculty services. She completed her undergraduate studies at Loyola Marymount University in Art History.
