Precautions one can take to ensure test-taker privacy and confidentiality of responses include:

a. Keeping all responses on a centralized computer that is password protected and accessible only to authorized members of the project. Surveys of a highly sensitive nature, e.g., sexual practices, may require an additional level of security, such as storage on a non-networked computer.

b. Removing identifying email addresses and any other personal identifiers from the collected data.

c. Not sharing raw data with individuals that are not authorized members of the project.

d. Always presenting data in summary or aggregate form.
