Academic Community of Excellence

The Academic Community of Excellence (ACE) prepares undergraduate scholars to successfully matriculate into a graduate or professional degree program. The goal of ACE is to increase the graduate acceptance rates of qualified applicants at the master’s and doctorate degree levels.

The ACE program helps to develop students of the highest distinction by emphasizing academic excellence, cooperative research and other scholarly activities, and distinguished records of leadership and service.

ACE admits applicants who possess strong academic records and a well articulated commitment to their educational and professional futures. Eligible students will automatically receive an application packet in the mail during the second semester of their freshman year (spring semester). Students admitted to ACE will enter the program during the subsequent fall semester (first semester of their sophomore year). Click here to check for eligibility.

Research Opportunities
ACE provides a select number of monetary awards to its students and their supervising faculty to work together on research projects during a semester or summer. Interested ACE students and faculty supervisors must complete a separate application, which includes developing a quality proposal. At the conclusion of the research the student is required to present the results at an annual symposium sponsored by ACE, which is usually held during the subsequent fall semester.
