Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed on a rolling basis.
Eligibility Requirements
- Sophomore standing at LMU (second-semester first-years can apply to start their sophomore year)
- U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident
- First generation college student and low income, or a member of a group underrepresented in graduate education (including African American, Native American, Alaskan Native, and Chicano/Latino)
- Demonstrate strong academic potential and interest in research
- Interest in exploring master’s and Ph.D. graduate programs
Expectations
- Participate in summer research programs as a rising junior and a rising senior
- Participate in fall and spring McNair seminars and workshops
- Present at regional and national conferences
- Prepare for and take the GRE exam (if applicable)
- Prepare for post-graduation success!
- Identify graduate school programs
- Prepare graduate school application portfolio
- Submit graduate school applications
