NOTE: Comprehensive course design requests for Summer Session I with the Office of Online Learning must be submitted by April 14, 2023. All courses and Summer Session I design projects will be completed by May 8, 2023 in order to allow time for accessibility checking and quality assurance. Comprehensive course design for Summer Session II with the Office of Online Learning must be submitted by May 26, 2023. All courses and Summer Session II design projects will be completed by June 19, 2023 in order to allow time for accessibility checking and quality assurance. Multimedia projects and consultation requests may be submitted at any time.
How Does LMU Define Online and Hybrid?
According to the Academic Planning and Review Committee, Online/Distance is "defined as a course where at least 50% of the meeting time occurs via the following technologies, either synchronously or asynchronously: 1.) the Internet, 2.) one-way or two-way transmissions through open broadcast, closed circuit, cable, broadband, fiber optic, satellite, or wireless communication devices, or 3.) audio conferencing." Hybrid is "defined as a course where at least some, but less than 50%, of the meeting time will occur via the technologies outlined above."
