Partner With OOL

Thank You for Your Interest in Partnering with Us!

Before we begin our collaboration, there are three key steps we kindly ask you to review and complete. These steps will ensure a smooth and successful experience as we work together to deliver high-quality online learning programs.

1. Understanding OOL Development Process

Creating a successful online course requires time, effort, and collaboration. To give you a clear overview, we’ve outlined the major milestones in our development process through the visual summary below.

*time estimates for this process are concurrent and not cumulative

  • Program is approved by APRC and/or appropriate  university or LLS Leadership.

Note: OOL staff is available to support academic leadership in program mapping and structure if desired.

  • OOL Team meets with program leads and participating faculty to establish program plan, production schedule, and timeline for deployment.

  • Faculty meet with OOL design team for initial interview and needs analysis.

Work begins on course/program template design and alignment with course and program learning objectives.

  • Faculty and OOL design team partner to create syllabus, course overview, learning objectives, instructional materials, and assessments.

Decisions about synchronous and asynchronous instruction are finalized.

  • Tool selection is finalized and the OOL design team assembles instructional materials, learning activities, supplemental content, and assessments.

    Faculty complete training, if necessary.

  • OOL team conducts accessibility and quality assurance review to ensure course functionality.

Faculty and program leads conduct subject matter review to ensure alignment with desired outcomes.

2. Complete Prior to Online Course Design

To maintain LMU’s commitment to educational excellence, including online learning, we ask that faculty to complete the four key requirements below.

  • This training equips online instructors with knowledge of Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) requirements set by the Department of Education. All full-time faculty who wish to teach online are required to complete this training. Please email ool@lmu.edu for more information.

  • This training familiarizes faculty with foundational principles for online instruction. Please email ool@lmu.edu for more information.
