If you ask any of our students what aspect of the Honors program has meant the most to them, they’ll consistently answer, “community.” Our program fosters a tight-knit community among students and faculty from the first day students arrive on campus for our annual Honors Summit, and long after they cross the stage at graduation.

Opportunities like Big-Little peer mentoring, events like Caffeine & Carbs, and living in the Living Learning Community all build lasting connections that go beyond the Bluff. Through shared academic experiences, community-wide social engagements, and informal gatherings, students support and challenge each other, forming bonds that shape their personal and academic journeys.

Honors LLCs

Community is at the heart of the Honors Program, and one of the many ways we try to foster this connection is through our Living Learning Communities (LLCs). Available for all four years, the LLC offers students the opportunity to live alongside their peers, create close-knit support systems, and engage in social and academic events.

Student Honors Advisory Council

The Student Honors Advisory Council (SHAC) is responsible for advising the University Honors Program administrators and the Honors Advisory Council. Led by the SHAC Executive Board, a committee of undergraduate students that are elected by the Honors community, SHAC assists in the planning and execution of Honors academic, social, recruitment, and mentoring events, as well as service projects.
