Faculty & Instructional Designer Partnership and Deadlines

The course design and development process takes many weeks to complete, and our instructional design team members are consistently managing multiple course development projects, deadlines, and academic programs.

Accordingly, course development services for online graduate program courses may take precedent over individual/non-program course development requests, depending upon OOL workload. To secure your project in our development calendar, please be sure to submit promptly and review the requirements below. While we will do our best to accommodate all requests that meet submission requirements, please note that submission does not guarantee acceptance.

  1. Complete the LMU eFaculty Certification program in advance of their course development request to the Office of Online Learning, and

  2. Allow for adequate course development time within project submission deadlines as outlined below:

Developing and deploying new, hybrid/online courses or reimagining a previously delivered course requires a highly collaborative partnership between faculty and course designers. Faculty provide the subject matter expertise and key instructional content, guiding the development of appropriate student learning activities and assessments. In turn, the instructional design team provides faculty with course building support, program alignment, and student-centered learning experiences that address both course and program-level learning objectives.

The duties below highlight the necessary contributions that drive a successful partnership and productive course design experience.
