Leave of Absence

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Sabbatical Leave Request and Reporting processes were updated to streamline and modernize the system using current technology. This change reduces manual tasks for Faculty, Deans, and Committee Chairs by automating workflows, improving efficiency, and making it easier to manage and track submissions. 

  • The system only accepts PDF files. Combine multiple documents into one PDF before uploading.

  • If you're the Chair submitting a request, enter your own email address.

  • Sabbatical process questions: Jasmine Robinson
    Technical issues: Service Desk

  • Log in and click “My Records” on the left side of the dashboard.

  • Chair reviews and forwards to the Dean 
    • Dean adds a recommendation and sends it to the Sabbatical Committee 
    • Committee reviews and submits to the Provost 
    • Provost makes final decision and sends letters 
  • No. The Chair or Dean must return the request to you for editing. 

  • After the Sabbatical Review Committee completes its review.

  • By the date listed on the Sabbatical Timeline on the Sabbatical & Leave webpage. 

  • Go to your dashboard, click “My Records,” then “Edit Request” next to the saved submission.

Reviewers

  • A faculty member from your area submitted a request that needs your review. 

  • You’ll receive an email from ofd@lmu.edu with a link; alternatively, you can check your dashboard. 

  • On the dashboard:  
    • Click “All Records” (top left) 
    • Then “All Records” (bottom left) 
    • Then “My Action Required” 
  • Approve – Sends to the next reviewer or completes the process 

    Deny – Ends the process and notifies faculty with comments 

    Request changes – Sends back to faculty for edits 

  • The faculty member gets an email notification and can resubmit the form with updates. 

  • Once decisions are final, all completed requests are logged in Workday. You can view them there.
