R&T Riders

In Spring 2021, LMU Faculty Senate passed a motion on rank and tenure Riders.  After extensive consultation with the Senate Executive Committee and the Deans (and Deans with department chairs), as well as with provost colleagues and President Snyder, the Provost asked each school/college to develop a rider, a statement or set of statements explaining the impact of the pandemic on scholarship in their disciplines and/or subdisciplines.

• Riders may be attached to the front of all College/School or Departmental Rank & Tenure (R&T) Standards by the candidate in fall 2021 and each year through fall 2026. Riders will not be attached to standards documents for faculty who are hired in August 2021 and beyond.
• The department, chair, dean, CRT, provost, president, and external reviewers are encouraged to take the riders into account in their assessment as appropriate.
