Awards & Commencement Honors

The University honors recipients of the following undergraduate awards at the annual Academic Awards Convocation:

  • College, School, and Program Scholars
  • Scholar of the Year
  • Valedictorian
  • Presidential Citations
  • Ignatian Award
  • Marian Award

The Scholar of the Year, Ignatian and Marian Award recipients, and Valedictorian, as well as other undergraduate candidates who receive academic awards, are acknowledged in the Commencement program.

Honors at Commencement

Undergraduates who have completed a minimum of 60 semester hours at LMU are candidates for Latin honors (cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude). These candidates will be identified in the commencement program and have the respective Latin honor printed on both their LMU transcript and LMU diploma. Refer to the Bulletin for specific qualifications and additional information.
