Our Mission Statement
The office of Global-Local Affairs facilitates collaborations and professional relationships among LMU faculty, staff, alumni, and other institutions on efforts related to comprehensive internationalization (global) and strategic community engagement (local). Our office provides ways to engage your "global imaginations" to intentionally incorporate global and local learning experiences into your teaching, research, and service.
Local and global citizenship are featured prominently in the LMU strategic plan with the recognition that students across all academic fields — facilitated by both faculty and staff — should be enthusiastic about and adept at cross-cultural interaction and cooperation in preparation for the complex and unscripted challenges they will encounter in their work, relationships, and lifelong learning.
MISSION:
Grounded in LMU’s Jesuit and Marymount traditions, our mission is to educate the whole person with a passion for a faith that does justice in response to a world in need of ethical and creative problem solvers.
VISION:
We aim to cultivate intellectual curiosity and cross-cultural understanding that builds bridges across and within global-local divides. We seek to cultivate a forward-thinking community that pursues knowledge, embraces inclusion, inspires creativity and promotes social justice to create the world we want to live in.
Imagine. Engage. Transform.
