About Us:
The mission of the CSG is to provide an open space for robust scholarly exchange about China and China-related global-local issues, to serve the professional growth of faculty and staff dedicated to working on or with China, and to cultivate a lively community of scholars and students interested in learning about China through generating productive intellectual conversations and building intercultural connections beyond the Bluff.
Since its founding in October 2020, the CSG has organized a series of well-attended academic talks (China Studies Forum), discussion panels (China in Focus), and workshops (Peer Mentoring) and retreats (Writing Retreat) featuring both outside guests and LMU's own faculty, staff, or students. With support from the Office of Global-Local Initiatives, the CSG seeks to carry out its mission in dynamic and innovative ways.
