President

Catherine Channell

Catherine is a senior Biology major with minors in Biochemistry and Health & Society from Palos Verdes and Camarillo, CA. On campus, she is involved in LMU’s Gryphon Circle service org., the Tri-Beta Biology Honors Society, & undergraduate research in Dr. Dahlquist’s lab. You can also find her TAing in the Biology Dept.! Her interests include precision medicine, classic mustangs, and philodendron micans :) She welcomes questions about the program, collaborations with other clubs & departments, and any interesting fun facts you want to share.

 

Vice President

Bettina Ernst

Bettina is excited to serve as this year’s SHAC Vice President. In the past, she has enjoyed serving the honors community as a first year representative and social chair. She hopes to aid the honors program in sharing resources and building bridges with other campus groups. Outside of honors, Bettina is a senior film and television production major with a minor in art history from Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a member of the food justice service organization Sursum Corda and professional cinematic arts fraternity Delta Kappa Alpha. She works as a writing tutor for the LMU Academic Resource Center. In her free time she enjoys reading, baking, and exploring Southern California!

Piper Jones

Piper is a junior Film, Television, and Media Studies and Business Administration, Management and Leadership double major originally from Seattle, Washington. This is Piper's third year on SHAC as she served as last years Freshman Representative. On campus she also is the Treasurer of Delta Kappa Alpha pre-professional cinematic arts fraternity, Co-Founder and Co-President of the Folklore Fellowship, a member of Sursum Corda service organization, and a prolific producer of undergraduate films. Her interests include hiking, video games, music (playing and listening), and female led movies.

Noopur Barve

Noopur is a sophomore Biology and Political Science major from Portland, Oregon. At LMU, she's a Chem Lab TA, a Tri-Beta member, and a barista at the Lion's Den. Her hobbies include singing, baking, and crafting and she hopes to eventually learn how to play chess.

 

Social Events Chair

Nicole Dwyer

Nicole is a junior Film & Television Production major with a minor in Business Administration. She is a member of Delta Kappa Alpha Cinematic Arts Fraternity, and she works at SFTV's Post Production Office. In the future, she plans to pursue a career in Video Editing. Originally from Long Island, New York, Nicole loves the beach, watching romantic comedies and teen drama shows, listening to Taylor Swift, traveling, and playing beach volleyball!

 

Communications Chair

Rachel Dennin

Rachel is a Junior Animation major with a double minor in Women’s and Gender Studies and Film, TV, Media Studies. Alongside serving as SHAC Communications Chair, she is the PR Chair for Delta Kappa Alpha Cinematic Arts Fraternity, a member of Creare Service Organization, a Campus Tour Guide, Animation Office Assistant, and CLC Co-Coordinator. Originally from Irvine California, her interests include visual development, reading, dancing, and everything Disney!

 

Junior-Senior Representative

Jillian Caforio

Jillian is a junior double majoring in Business Marketing and Film, TV and Media Studies. She is in CBA’s M-School marketing pathway in the strategy and management track. She also works at SFTV’s Student Production Office and actively produces and works on films each semester. Jillian is from the Chicago area, and is always heading to beach in her free time! Outside of LMU, she loves listening to music, running, and hanging out with friends!

 

Sophomore Representative

Mateo-Luis Planas

Mateo is a Sophomore Political Science major with minors in Journalism, History (Law, Politics, & Society), and Peace & Justice Studies. On campus, he is a member of ‘Straight White Men’, a creative collective focused on empowering BIPOC and queer voices in improv/sketch comedy. He works at the Los Angeles Loyolan, writing for the opinion section, as well as working as a Youth Literacy Intern for the Connecticut Writing Project over the summer. He is also a co-organizer of the Equity Project, a student-run social justice initiative within the Honors program. He enjoys working out, spending time with his dog, true crime, and the oxford comma.
