David Velasquez, Ph.D.

David Velasquez, Ph.D., joined Institutional Research and Decision Support in July of 2022.  David serves as an Institutional Research Associate in the areas of course evaluations, survey research, and official reporting.  David conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses to inform decision making and planning.  More specifically, David, coordinates data processes for the administration of course evaluations and distribution of reports. Along with facilitating university survey administration procedures, David assists in survey design and applies sampling techniques to create samples surveys administered by campus leaders. For internal and external audiences, David supports the development and dissemination of reports on official university statistics.

Before joining LMU, David earned his Ph.D. in Urban Education Policy at the University of Southern California, M.Ed. in Urban Teaching at the University of California, Los Angeles, and B.A. in Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley.  While at USC, David was recognized for outstanding teaching by the USC Rossier School of Education and, once more when he received USC's highest honor for graduate student teaching from the USC Provost & Center for Excellence in Teaching. His contribution to education research can be found in The Journal of Higher Education, Community College Review, and Urban Education.
