Consultations

Sometimes faculty need personalized support.  At the CFD we offer one-on-one consultations.  Each director has set aside time each week to help you with whatever you might need at this time in your week/semester/career. Feel free to email individual directors to schedule a time to chat or just drop by during office hours.

    Edward Mosteig provides welcoming, collaborative consultation for faculty at any stage of a project or at any point in the teaching process. Faculty may bring an early idea, an unresolved question, or assignment they would like to strengthen, or a teaching experience that has become frustrating or discouraging. Consultations offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space to talk through what is not working, explore practical changes, and identify manageable next steps. Areas of consultation may include brainstorming, course and assignment design, student engagement, technology exploration, student reviews, and experimentation with new approaches. 

    You do not need to have a solution, or even a clearly defined problem, before reaching out.

    Myla offers collaborative consultation for faculty exploring leadership, navigating a new role, or thinking about their professional growth. Faculty may bring a specific challenge, an emerging idea, or simply a desire to consider what comes next. Topics may include academic leadership, department chairing, mentoring, career planning, and building relationships across the university. You do not need to have a fully developed plan before reaching out.
