Recommended Attire

Our graduation ceremony will be held outdoors in June, and while it is a celebratory occasion, it is also a meaningful milestone. We encourage all graduates and guests to dress comfortably and appropriately for the significance of the day.

For Graduates

Graduates participating in the ceremony will wear the official cap and gown provided by LMU Extension. To ensure a professional appearance during the ceremony, gowns should be fully zipped when the graduation procession begins.

We recommend wearing business casual or professional attire underneath your gown, as you may be photographed before, during, and after the ceremony. Suggested attire includes:

• Dress shirts, blouses, or professional tops
• Slacks, dress pants, or knee-length (or longer) skirts/dresses
• Comfortable dress shoes or closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor walking
• Clothing that allows you to move comfortably and stay cool during an outdoor ceremony

Please keep in mind that portions of the event may take place on grass or uneven surfaces. We recommend avoiding excessively high heels, flip-flops, or other footwear that may be difficult to walk in outdoors.

For Guests

Guests should dress for comfort in warm weather, while keeping in mind the tone of the event. Suggestions include:

• Lightweight, breathable fabrics
• Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen for sun protection
• Comfortable shoes suitable for walking or standing on outdoor surfaces

We recommend checking the weather forecast in advance and bringing water to stay hydrated.
