Faculty Development

The HHMI STEM Equity Institute offers a $5,000 stipend to support Seaver College faculty who wish to participate in a summer institute for equity-centered professional development of teaching practices and student-centered assessment of academic success and inclusive experiences. Faculty must be available from throughout the summer for the institute. Most sessions will be in-person but there will be a few sessions on Zoom.  An additional stipend of $2,000 will be offered to support summer institute faculty participants who choose to engage in a faculty learning community (FLC). All full-time faculty are eligible to apply if teaching during both semesters of the academic year.

This is a cohort-based program that involves extensive professional development focused on inclusive and student-centered pedagogies, equitable classrooms, universal design in learning, neurodiversity, intercultural development, restorative practices, and re-imagining how we foster and assess student success in STEM.
