Update from LMU Study Abroad re: COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic
Given the uncertainty around the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and ongoing travel restrictions worldwide, LMU has made the decision to suspend international travel in fall 2020. As a result, study abroad programming in the upcoming semester has been suspended.
We have notified our study abroad students, faculty, and overseas partners of this update, and students have the option to move their application to the spring 2021 semester.
Over the past several months, we advised all outbound students to maintain fall contingency plans, including registration for on-campus classes and housing, so registration in campus classes should already be in place. If a student needs to make any course schedule updates, the system will be open again for adjustments on July 6th. If a student is now in need of campus housing, LMU Student Housing is accepting late applications from study abroad students, although an assignment is not guaranteed.
We know this news is disappointing, and we thank all our students for their patience and flexibility as we navigate these challenging circumstances. We encourage you to consult lmu.edu/coronavirus where the latest updates from LMU can be found.
The mission of the LMU Study Abroad office is to transform our student participants by providing meaningful, culturally immersive and academically sound experiences abroad. Learn More >
