HHMI Project Objectives

Objective 1: Provide faculty with knowledge of equity-minded practices and their impact on students, institutional policies, and sense of belonging through participation in the HHMI STEM Equity Summer Institute.

Objective 2: Support the development of each faculty member as an equity practitioner, with skills applicable in varied learning environments and decision-making spaces through participation in a year-long HHMI STEM Equity faculty learning community.

Objective 3: Build the capacity of Seaver students to shape the future of the intersection of STEM and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) through a STEM Equity research learning community.

Objective 4: Generate and measure equity-centered culture change at the department- and college-levels through systemic analysis and the implementation of equity-focused department initiatives driven by members of the HHMI STEM Equity faculty learning communities.
