Interested students complete a form. Matches may be made according to the information shared in the application. Final decisions for matches are made by the DSS professional staff. Students are notified about the matches early in the fall semester.
Mentee Criteria
- Incoming first year or transfer student
- Be registered with the DSS Office
Mentee Interest Form
If you are interested in becoming a mentee please complete the Mentee Interest Form and email the completed application to the DSS Office.
Mentee Responsibilities
- Attend the "Meet your Match" event, at least one DSS workshop during the semester, and the end of the semester peer mentoring program celebration
- Communicate with mentor at least twice per month via text, email, phone, virtually, or in-person in DSS
- At least one meeting must be face-to-face either virtually or in the DSS Office
- Notify DSS staff of any concerns with your mentor
Please note that consideration will be given to participants who miss a scheduled peer mentoring program event for a disability related reasons or medical emergency. You are encouraged to communicate with the DSS staff if/when you miss a scheduled program event.
