Information for Students

Students must provide documentation of their disability from an appropriate licensed professional. Services are offered to students who have established disabilities under state and federal laws. Once the student has provided all of the necessary documentation, the DSS Office will make every effort to respond to students' requests for accommodation within 15 business days, although during peak times it may take longer to receive notification. The same timeline applies to students who submit additional documentation so that their file may be re-reviewed. All information and documentation are confidential.

The information on the left hand menu help to explain LMU's student rights and responsibilities as well as guidelines regarding certain accommodations. Some pages of interest are listed below.

The Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights (OCR) offers a helpful fact sheet to inform students of their rights and responsibilities. It provides questions and answers to assist Students with Disabilities Preparing for Postsecondary Education.
