DOR-AJCC Collaboration Project
Building a More Inclusive Workforce in California
LMU will lead a statewide effort to improve how California’s public workforce system serves people with disabilities. Through the DOR-AJCC Collaboration Project, funded by the California Employment Development Department (EDD) and the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), LMU will provide technical assistance and developmental evaluation to 18 Local Workforce Development Boards across the state.
This initiative represents a critical shift in how California’s public workforce system serves individuals with disabilities. Despite ongoing efforts, many people with disabilities continue to encounter barriers when accessing employment services, training programs, and support systems. The DOR-AJCC Collaboration Project seeks to address these challenges by fostering greater alignment and coordination between America’s Job Centers of California (AJCC's) and DOR, ultimately leading to streamlined and equitable services.
LMU will play a central role in guiding this transformation. By facilitating shared learning, supporting the development of innovative strategies, and promoting collaboration across agencies, LMU will help build the capacity of local teams to implement meaningful, sustainable improvements. The overarching goal is to ensure that individuals with disabilities experience more equitable access, higher-quality support, and improved employment outcomes across the state.
