Strengthening Impact Through Statewide Collaboration

The success of the DOR-AJCC Collaboration Project is rooted in strong, sustained partnerships across California’s workforce system. At the center of this work are California’s Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDBs), whose leadership and innovation are essential to advancing access, equity, and inclusion for people with disabilities.

This initiative is guided by the belief that meaningful, systemic change happens through collaboration. LMU works closely with participating AJCC’s to assess regional needs, co-develop inclusive strategies, and ensure that solutions are practical, effective, and grounded in the realities of local communities. These partnerships enable the project to build on local strengths while advancing a unified, statewide vision.

In coordination with the California Employment Development Department (EDD) and the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), this project is supported by EQUUS Workforce Solutions, The Coelho Center for Disability Law, Policy & Innovation, and LMU’s faculty, scholars, and workforce development experts. Together, we are building the infrastructure for a more accessible, equitable, and responsive public workforce system.
