Core Curriculum

Eddy Current Testing Level I

Course Description:

This course covers the body of knowledge for Eddy Current Testing Level I. It teaches the fundamentals of Eddy Current and theory.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand the theory of Electricity, Current, and Electromagnetism
  • Understand Direct and Alternating Current and Magnetic Fields
  • Understand the relationships between different electromagnetic properties of materials (Conductivity, Permeability, etc.,) as well as their advantages and disadvantages when performing Eddy Current Inspections
  • Knowledge of probe arrangements, modes of operation, and overall ET applicability
  • Understand inspection parameter selection, as well as operate readout mechanisms
  • Knowledge of discontinuities associated with Eddy Current Inspections, evaluation and reporting

*All course costs include the relevant prerequisite modules unless otherwise specified. All training courses are in accordance with SNT-TC-1A, CP-105, NAS410, and/or MIL-STD-271.
