Course Description:
This course covers the body of knowledge for Eddy Current Testing Level I. It teaches the fundamentals of Eddy Current and theory.
Course Objectives:
- Understand the theory of Electricity, Current, and Electromagnetism
- Understand Direct and Alternating Current and Magnetic Fields
- Understand the relationships between different electromagnetic properties of materials (Conductivity, Permeability, etc.,) as well as their advantages and disadvantages when performing Eddy Current Inspections
- Knowledge of probe arrangements, modes of operation, and overall ET applicability
- Understand inspection parameter selection, as well as operate readout mechanisms
- Knowledge of discontinuities associated with Eddy Current Inspections, evaluation and reporting
