Professional Development

LMU Extension is committed to strengthening California's behavioral health workforce through flexible, high-impact training designed to meet the needs of both individuals and organizations. Our courses are structured for working professionals and can be completed at an accelerated pace, allowing learners to upskill quickly and apply their knowledge in real-world settings.

We help educate the community about the critical role of Peer Support Specialists, especially in addressing urgent public health challenges. Peer workers are now essential members of care teams in treatment centers, recovery organizations, hospital emergency rooms, law enforcement and prevention agencies, schools, behavioral health systems, and a wide range of community-based programs.

To support this rapidly growing field, LMU Extension offers both core peer support training and a variety of specialty trainings. We work with organizations to deliver customized training solutions that meet your format, timeline, and budget - whether you need in-person, online, or hybrid options.

Let us help you build peer workforce capacity with high-quality, flexible training designed for impact.
