Scholarships and Grant-Funded Programs

Our programs are designed to help individuals from a wide range of backgrounds build the skills and knowledge necessary for success in today’s workforce. Through workforce development initiatives, we aim to increase opportunities for career growth and economic mobility.
Scholarships and Grant-Funding for Career Growth
Scholarship and grant funding may be available to support students in achieving their educational and professional goals. Grant funding may be available to assist individuals including eligible youth, low-income adults, Veterans, justice impacted individuals, and displaced workers. For consideration, please complete a Financial Assistance Application. Funding is not guaranteed and is based on funding availability.
Thomas P. Pike Substance Use Disorders Counseling Scholarships
Scholarships may be available to individuals interested in pursuing careers in Substance Use Disorders Counseling. Eligible students may receive a one-time award of up to 50% of tuition. Thomas P. Pike Scholarship Awards are based on financial need; availability of funding and the number of applicants received each semester. For scholarship consideration, applicants must submit a complete application and required documentation. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Peer Specialist Training Programs
Scholarships are available for California residents interested in Peer Specialist Training and includes the cost of tuition, career counseling, job placement assistance and post-program support for six (6) months.
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Funding
WIOA is a federal program designed to support workforce development initiatives across the United States. WIOA funding helps empower job seekers, especially those facing barriers to employment, by providing access to training, education, career services, and supportive resources. Through WIOA, LMU Extension partners with Local Workforce Development Boards and organizations to deliver impactful programs that enhance skills, promote equitable opportunities, and strengthen regional economies.
