About First To Go

The First To Go Program at Loyola Marymount University is committed to advancing educational transformation and justice by providing first-generation college students with critical resources and opportunities for academic, professional, and personal development.

Our mission is to acknowledge and elevate the unique strengths and experiences first-generation students bring to LMU, fostering a supportive community that advocates for equity and ensures our students' voices and realities are valued and championed.

We are dedicated to supporting students as they navigate university culture, working to dismantle barriers and create pathways for success throughout their time at LMU and beyond.

We're first-gen! Are you? Find out!

First To Go at LMU, is home to any student whose caretaker(s) did not receive a bachelor’s degree from a college or university within the United States.

If your parent(s) or caregivers(s) attained an associate's degree from a community college and/or you have siblings who have gone to college, First To Go considers you a first-generation student.
