POLS 3800: Political Internship connects direct work experience in an internship to coursework related to the broader study of political science in an academic setting. Students hold placements with public service agencies, elected officials, political parties, campaigns, interest groups, lobbying firms, political media, and non-profit organizations among others. Students obtain practical experience, learn more about a particular area of politics, and build invaluable relationships with potential future employers while earning college credit and enhancing employment prospects and options after graduation.

Students must secure an internship by the end of the first week of the semester and complete 125 internship hours by the end of the semester. StudyLA assists students in finding internships.
