Join us for the first workshop of the series on faculty finding funding for research and creative work. Kick things off with an introduction to the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP). Faculty will learn about the office’s services and resources, including how to identify funding opportunities, develop competitive grant proposals, and navigate the grant application process. This is also an opportunity to meet the staff, learn who to contact for different types of support, and ask questions about pursuing external funding. Whether you are new to grant seeking or an experienced researcher, come learn how the office can help you turn your research ideas into funded projects! Lunch will be provided.

Nuts and Bolts of Faculty Finding Funding: Understanding the Difference between Research and Grant Writing

Join us for the second workshop in our series on faculty finding funding for research and creative work. Research writing and grant writing may draw on the same ideas, but they serve different purposes—and speak to different audiences. This workshop will help faculty understand the key differences between research writing and grant writing, with particular attention to how audience, purpose, and presentation shape a successful proposal. Faculty will gain practical strategies for adapting their scholarly ideas for a grant audience and leave with greater confidence in communicating the significance and impact of their work to funders.
