
Brian Pirttima, M.A., Director of Education Abroad, brings over 20 years of leadership in international education across U.S. universities and global program providers. His work focuses on expanding access to global learning through program development, student support, and strategic international partnerships.
Before joining LMU, Brian served as Program Coordinator at the University of the Incarnate Word (2021–2024), where he launched and managed online postgraduate programs in Spanish. He previously served as CIEE Center Director in Guanajuato, Mexico (2018), overseeing an undergraduate semester program and high school summer program, and supporting graduate-level, faculty-led initiatives.
From 2012 to 2017, Brian was Director of the Center for Learning Abroad at Lynn University, where he expanded program options, developed scholarships, and secured provider partnerships that increased student participation and improved funding access. Earlier, as Executive Director at International Studies Abroad (2005–2012), he managed operations for high school and service-learning programs across six countries and led programs abroad for six years.
Having lived and worked in Mexico and Spain for over 13 years, Brian is fluent in Spanish and has traveled to more than 50 countries. He is passionate about guiding students toward transformative international experiences.
