She began working as a research assistant for CURes during her undergrad, assisting with arts-based urban forestry work in Baltimore. In her current position, she works closely with Michele Romolini to continue researching urban forestry in Baltimore, and climate-resilience in Los Angeles communities. She also dedicates time working with Lisa Fimiani to cultivate native biodiversity in the Ballona Discovery Park and on the LMU campus. As a research associate, she values community engagement and ethical research. Isabel is also skilled with GIS, and is an advocate for spatial literacy.
Growing up on the Chesapeake Bay, Isabel learned early that humans and our environment are inextricably linked; she hopes to contribute to a world that values this connection.
