For students to make their faculty aware of their approved accommodations, they will need to login to the DSS Online Portal to select the accommodations that they want to use in each of their classes. It is recommended that students do this during the first week of the semester so that they may plan with their faculty.
Request Faculty Notifications

- Log into the DSS online portal with your LMU credentials.
- When prompted, read through your agreements and sign agreeing to the policies and expectations listed.
- Check the box next to the classes listed that you would like to use your approved accommodations. Then click “Step 2 – Continue to Customize Your Accommodations”.
- Select the accommodations that you want to use for each of your classes. Note, “Alternative Testing” refers to all your approved testing accommodations. When done click “Submit your Accommodation Requests”. A green check mark will appear at the top of the page to show your request was successfully submitted.
- Speak with your faculty about your approved accommodations and how they may best be applied to the class.
Students also can modify their accommodation requests. At any point during the semester, students may choose to change or cancel their accommodation requests. After they submit their desired changes, the DSS Office will email the faculty with an updated notification.

- Scroll down to the class in which you want to make the change. To the right of the class name, click on “Modify Request”.
- Check the box next to the accommodations that you would like to add (or unclick on those that you would like to remove) and click the “Update Request” box at the bottom of the page. A green check mark will appear at the top of the page to show your request was successfully submitted. Remember, “Alternative Testing” refers to all your approved testing accommodations.
- Speak with your faculty about your approved accommodations and how they may best be applied to the class.
Cancel a Faculty Notification
- Log into the DSS online portal with your LMU credentials.
- Scroll down to the class in which you want to make the change. To the right of the class name, click on “Cancel Request”.
- From the drop-down menu, select your reason for canceling your request. Then click on the “Cancel Accommodation Request” box. A green check mark will appear at the top of the page to show your request was successfully submitted.
