Application Process Overview
This program is available to all full time tenured & tenure-track faculty. Faculty members on a leave of absence are not eligible.
All awards are restricted to a maximum of $2,000 for the academic year, including the preceding summer. Amounts that exceed the $2,000 will be paid for out of the department or School/College budget. All hours must be completed by the end of the academic year; please note that the academic year runs summer-spring. Faculty are responsible for keeping track of their student(s)’ declining balance(s).
- Complete the Rains Faculty Application. The application link will be found at the top of this page when live. In addition, all tenure-line LMU faculty will be notified when the application is released.
- Once the application is submitted, our office will route the application to the appropriate Chair for approval.
- After Chair approval, ORCA will review your application and notify you according to the Rains Review Dates.
- Upon application approval, you will be forwarded further instructions on how to finish hiring your Rains assistant through Workday.
Student Eligibility
To be eligible for hire, students must be currently enrolled in either an LMU undergraduate or graduate program during the academic year for which the request is made. Students hired in the summer must be continuing their enrollment in the summer or upcoming fall semester.
